Payroll analysts were drowning in inefficiency.
The existing payroll product required excessive manual intervention, forced users through multiple unnecessary checkpoints, and consumed valuable time that should have been spent ensuring compensation was accurately captured, rather than wrestling with the tool.
In an industry where accuracy and timeliness are non-negotiable, the system was actively working against its users.
Results
We redesigned the payroll cycle workflow to align with analysts' natural review process, transforming a disjointed, manual experience into an intuitive flow that worked with their thinking, rather than against it.
The new design fundamentally changed how analysts move through the payroll cycle, reducing friction at every step and enabling them to complete reviews significantly faster.
My role
Designer (myself), Senior Product Designer, and Product Manager. Together, we took the project end-to-end, from ideation all the way to developer hand-off.
